Message from the Race Director

The Kennebunk Rotary Club is pleased to report that the 20th Annual Presidential Road Race (PRR) will be held on November 26, 2011, at 10:00 am, in Kennebunkport, Maine.

Our 5K course was certified by the USATF in 2007. Once again, the 1K Kid's Fun Run will precede the main event. Also as before, the race will start and finish in front of Consolidated School at 25 School St. Kennebunkport, where registration and the presentation of awards will be held.

As in the past, all net proceeds from this race will fund the Kennebunk Rotary Scholarship program and other beneficial programs in the communities we serve. As a result of this race and of other fund-raising events we have been able to help worthy local students with annual scholarships totaling of $15,000 to $20,000.

We encourage you to register soon and join us on November 26. We will be starting the main run/walk event at 10:00 am, preceded by the Kid's Fun Run at 9:15 am. Timing will be provided by 5K Sports and Race Management Services until 11:30 AM. The awards ceremony will follow promptly at the Consolidated School Gym where we will have plenty to eat and drink. Our prize list is excellent, including great goodie bags and a generous raffle available to all bib holders.

This is still one of the most beautiful courses in the northeast. It begins and ends in a quaint New England village, goes through beautiful wooded foliage and proceeds directly along the coast and the Kennebunk River district, with awesome ocean and waterfront views.
